“What is blogging?” This is a question I get asked all the time. In this post, we’ll break it down in simple terms. To put it simply, blogging (short for web log) is like an online journal that’s regularly updated with new content to help keep readers engaged and interested in what you have to say. It can be as diverse as an opinion piece or sports blog on the latest news, a travel guide, or a personal diary — if you think your ideas could be interesting to others, then you should consider starting your own blog!

Blogging is about sharing your voice and helping others

Writing a blog post is an art, but it can also be a valuable tool for connecting with other people who are interested in the same topic or have similar interests as you do. When writing a blog post, it’s important to keep this in mind — you should be making content for your readers, even if that means writing about something you aren’t particularly interested in yourself.

To find topics, you need to get to know your audience.

The first step to finding topics is to get to know your audience. There are a few ways you can do this:

Listen. The Internet is full of content, so finding things that resonate with your audience is important. This means paying attention to what they’re talking about and reading their comments on social media, in online forums and even in emails you receive from them.
Ask questions. Make sure each sentence contributes something valuable towards answering all five W questions (who?, what?, where?, when?, why?) plus ask yourself how else could we say this same thing in different words/phrases? This keeps us focused on answering those fundamental questions while avoiding unnecessary repetition/wastefulness.

You don’t have to do everything on your own.

It is important to remember that you don’t have to do everything on your own. You can certainly make the time to write blog posts, but if you don’t have time then I suggest hiring someone else.
